The Chinese almanac evaluates moving dates using the Twelve Day Officers and the five-element interactions of the new home's orientation. Officers such as 定 Stable (Dìng) and 成 Succeed (Chéng) favor putting down roots and establishing a new household. Days governed by 破 Break (Pò) or 危 Danger (Wēi) are avoided, as they suggest instability and potential misfortune in a new dwelling.
