Eight Immortals
Zhang Guolao is the oldest of the Eight Immortals — a figure of mysterious age who rode a white donkey that could be folded like paper when not needed and stored in a pouch. When emperors summoned him to court, he would go but then disappear. When sages debated him, he gave answers nobody understood until much later. He is the figure who has lived long enough to know which things actually matter, and delights in being entirely himself.
Zhang Guolao represents the wisdom that comes only from long experience — the settled ease of someone who no longer needs to prove themselves, the gentle authority of one who simply knows.
Some answers only come with time. You don\'t have to have everything figured out today. Allow yourself to still be in the middle of the story.
