He Xiangu — Immortal Lady He — is the only woman among the Eight Immortals, and her legend speaks of purity, independence, and inner strength. As a young girl she reportedly ate a peach of immortality and vowed to live on moonbeams and powdered mother-of-pearl. She never married, dedicating herself entirely to inner cultivation. In a culture with rigid expectations for women, her story is quietly radical.

He Xiangu is traditionally depicted carrying a lotus flower — a symbol of purity that rises from mud without being stained. She represents the feminine wisdom that comes not from conformity but from deep listening to one's own nature.

You are allowed to not want what everyone else wants. Your inner knowing is not naivety. It is a compass. Trust it.
